The Ampath Phlebotomy Technician Learnership is a 24-month, HPCSA-accredited program starting in January 2026. It blends online classes with practical clinical training at Ampath Care Centers in Centurion and Westridge (Durban). Successful completion qualifies learners to register with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as phlebotomy technicians.

Requirements

Age: Must be under 35 years
Education:
- Matric certificate with a minimum of 50% in:
  - Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
  - Life Sciences/Biology
  - English
- Current Grade 12 learners may apply using Grade 11 results
Citizenship: South African citizens only
Qualification Level: Not above NQF Level 4
Technical Needs: Access to a smartphone or device with internet connectivity for online learning
