The Bachelor of Commerce (4-year programme) at the University of Pretoria is designed for students who wish to study commerce but do not yet fully meet the entrance requirements for the standard three-year BCom. The programme includes a foundation year that builds the academic skills needed for success in commerce, providing extra support and a stronger base through an extended curriculum. Students continue into the standard BCom from the second year, following the same academic path with the same career outcomes as the three-year programme. Career opportunities depend on the specific BCom specialisation chosen in the second year of study.
Admission requirements: English (Home or First Additional Language): Level 5 (60-69%); Mathematics: Level 4 (50-59%); APS: 26 (excluding Life Orientation).
