The Bachelor of Philosophy in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at NWU Potchefstroom is a three-year interdisciplinary degree that combines three of the most powerful analytical frameworks for understanding society, governance, and the economy. Students develop skills in ethical reasoning, political analysis, economic theory, and critical argumentation — tools that are urgently needed in South Africa's complex post-apartheid democratic context. The PPE degree has a global reputation for producing future leaders in government, law, academia, journalism, and international affairs, and NWU's offering is tailored to the South African context with attention to governance challenges, developmental economics, and political transformation. Graduates are among the most versatile and intellectually rigorous in the social sciences.
