The Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences at Wits is a demanding programme designed for students with exceptional mathematical ability, covering pure mathematics, analysis, algebra, topology, and mathematical physics at a deep theoretical level. All applicants must write the National Benchmark Tests, and applicants with 44+ APS and English Level 6, Mathematics Level 7, and Physical Sciences Level 7 may be wait-listed. The degree provides the strongest possible foundation for postgraduate study in mathematics, statistics, and related disciplines, and prepares graduates for highly analytical careers in finance, actuarial science, data science, and academic research.
