University of the Western Cape

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a public university located in Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 1959, UWC played a pivotal role in the struggle against apartheid, becoming known as an “intellectual home of the left”. Today, it continues as a dynamic and diverse institution, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across seven faculties.
