About Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme
ISFAP was established as a funding model to sustainably cater for the higher education needs and costs of South Africa’s poor and middle-class students. The programme aims to fast track South Africa’s skills production for the 21st century by funding the higher education costs of mainly students studying towards a career in Occupations of High Demand (OHDs), which have been identified as critical to South Africa’s economic development by the Human Resources Development Council (HRDC). These include Actuaries, Accountants, Artisans, Engineers, Medical Doctors, Pharmacists and Prosthetists.
Discretionary Funding
The funding provided by ISFAP is made available through the contributions of various donors in the public and private sectors. ISFAP will provide funding opportunities to first-year undergraduate students in 2022, but does not guarantee to fund for all applicants.
Successful applicants will receive a funding package that includes tuition, accommodation, study material, a monthly stipend and meals as well as student support and an on-campus ISFAP programme manager.
Criteria for eligibility may include:
- Academic achievement and acceptance into the ISFAP partner university of your choice for the relevant degree programme
- Donor requirements
- First degrees starting in 2022
- Funding availability
